Not only in North Bali, Amazing Waterfall is also exist in South Bali exactly Gianyar. That names "Tegenungan Waterfall", it's suitable to visit if you are coming in Ubud Area.

The waterfall is being on strategic point and near Ubud Area (just take time about 30 minutes). You may reach it by using the transport kind of 2 wheels or 4 wheels. The routes to waterfall is pretty easy by going through good road.  

1. Main Attraction

Bali Tegenungan Waterfall features the lush scenery of water roar from 20 meters height. Great rock cliff seems like flanking Heavy Water Flow. It is really awesome if you look from far.

Under the waterfall there is a natural pool with fresh water and lovely small rocks. You may just swim and soak to enjoy the waterfall area.

The situation around pool is cool although you haven't touched the water. When starting to go down to pool, the water is truly fresh as skin will feel cold.

However, if you are coming on rainy day. The volumes of water will increase bigger and its colour turns brown. That’s because the water comes from Petanu River.

2. Location of Waterfall

The waterfall is located at Ir. Sutami Street, Kemenuh village, Sukawati Disrict, Gianyar Regency. The situated to waterfall is easy and smooth.

You can reach this point by using the kind of vehicles such as motorcycles or cars. The access to there isn’t so crowded. It’s recommended for those want to get calm atmosphere.

For reach the waterfall, you probably will take time about:

• About 33 minutes (10.6 km) from Ubud via Mas Roadway.
• About 50 minutes (21.8 km) from Denpasar City via Sakah Roadway.
• About 1 hour 3 minutes (32.9 km) from Ngurah Rai Airport or Kuta via Ngurah Rai Highway.
• About 1 hour 14 minutes (40.5 km) from Nusa Dua via Ngurah Rai Highway.

How? Isn’t too far from the crowd of South Bali, right? Many visitors also often choose this waterfall as alternative of waterfall in North Bali.

3. Parking Area, Ticket Fee, and Facilities

Entrance Ticket Fee in Tegenugan is really cheap, just IDR 10.000 or USD 1 per person. The parking area is wide enough. 

When starting to get out of the car, you will see many stalls (local called as "Warung") which sell snack, cold drink, and various kind of souvenirs.

Besides that, you also will find a large restaurant (Bebek Tamarind Restaurant) here with Balinese Style Crispy Duck. You may also find the gazebos (called as “Bale Bengong” by Local) to relax in several parts.

For the visitor, public toilet is also available here. It’s used by many people to change the cloth after playing the water.

4. Access to Tegenungan Waterfall

The access to Tegenungan Waterfall is much easier than Waterfall Points in North Bali. After going pass many stalls near parking area, it's time to walk down a hundred the stairs. It's very good and easy to go through because it was built by concrete.

From this point, you can have witness the beauty of waterfall's backdrops which surrounded by green view.

In the front, you will see a small T-junction. Left toward is to waterfall while right toward is to a holy temple.

However, this temple isn't opened for public just the people who want to worship. Under the temple area there are a few traditional showers (called as "Pancoran" in Balinese Language).

Its water come from natural spring. No wonder! It looks clear and clean. As your skin contact in the water, it’s felt cold!

But he visitors isn’t allowed to take a bath here. Caused the shower is called holy place by local.

5. Open Hour

Tegenungan Waterfall is generally opened at 06.30 - 18.30. If you plan to visit, at the afternoon is best time. Many visitors also always this time to come.

Especially for those who want to take a perfect images on Waterfall backgrounds. The Sunshine will illuminate the waterfall from west direction, it will make the waterfall looks clearer in photos.

6. Several Things You Should Remember When Visiting

• Avoid to visiting on rainy season, caused the water will seem more brown and the volume also increase (be dangerous for just taking a bath).
• Use special shoes when visiting, in order to can move comfortably (specially on the stairs) and avoid the foot injury.
